When it comes to our homes, there's not many things more important to us. It's where we spend most of our time. It's where we raised our families. It's where we gather for holidays.
All in all, just like the saying goes...
...there's no place like home!
With so much 'living' going on in our homes, it's only natural for the time to come that we need to straighten and clean it back up.
With a quick 15-20 minute clean up, your home can be back to feeling clean and cozy in no time!
Here are 6 fun ways to give you home a quick deep cleaning. Read on below.
1. Clean out the fridge and wipe it out.
Over time as our refrigerator collects more "leftovers" and near-empty bottles, it slowly begins to fill up. A great place to start when cleaning your home is the refrigerator. Toss out any old food and condiment containers that may have been in there for too long. These are usually the culprits to your sour, musky odors that come from your fridge. Wipe down each cabinet and drawer to clean out any spills or leaks that may have happened from a loose lid or leaky casseroles. Be sure to wipe the inside AND outside of your refrigerator for best results!
2. Vacuum all chairs, couches and flooring.
While owning our dogs is rewarding in many aspects, our fur babies also come with their 'messy' side. If your dog sheds, you know first hand how much hair can accumulate fast. Find the places your dog(s) sleeps and lays the most, and start there. This is usually dog beds, couches, or flooring. Besides the amount of hair that is collected on these surfaces, our pets natural odors are left behind as well. So a quick vacuum will help remove the hair AND the left over smells.
If there's stains that have been left behind on any surface from your dog(s), use an effective cleaner like FurryFreshness to full remove the entire stain and restore your furniture to a 'like new' appearance.
3. Toilets and bathroom grout.
I think we can all agree that the bathroom is probably the least popular place to clean. It quickly gets dirty and seems to be the place people avoid the most. Using a strong cleaner to pre-treat the toilet before a quick scrub with a toilet brush will help loosen any built up dirt and grim that may have formed there.
Shower and flooring grout is one of those things that people often forget about, but can make a HUGE impact on the appearance of your bathrooms. Simply spray a cleaner over the tile and grout and allow it to penetrate the built-up dirt. After waiting a few minutes, use an old toothbrush or scrub brush and lightly scrub the grout and tiles. If the cleaner has been effective, your grout should become a bright white color again and immediately give your shower or flooring a brilliant shine.
4. Remove any carpet stains.
Carpeting and rugs probably get the most wear and tear in our homes. We are constantly walking over them, spilling crumbs and maybe even being peed on by our dogs. Many people struggle to find a stain remove that delivers on its' promise when it comes to 'stain removal'. The market seems to be littered with watered down products that offer temporary results, if any.
For this, we have to recommend FurryFreshness. Unlike anything on the market, FurryFreshness employees and entirely different approach to removing pet stains and smells from your carpeting. Plus, because of its' scent free feature, you won't be temporarily masking your odor with another. There's a reason over 120,000 other pet owners trust FurryFreshness around their homes!
5. Tackle the pantry
Similar to the our refrigerators, our pantries have a tendency to slowly fill up with outdated baked goods and other perishables. Things like old loafs of bread, potatoes, corn or tortillas can all begin to mold, stink, and attract gnats. Clean these items out as they expire to prevent your shelves from filling and the odors to start. Also remove any mostly eaten bags or chips or crackers to avoid similar problems.
5. Keep the air smelling fresh
The last thing we recommend you do (after all the above things) is take care of your air quality. Natural incense, candles, or air fresheners sprays are a great way to put a 'cherry on top' to making your home feel clean and cozy. Be sure any artificial scents in your home are non-toxic and pet safe. Our dogs sinuses are much more sensitive than ours, so any heavily scented smells can be troublesome.
If odors are in the air from a recently made meal - such as bacon or fish - something like FurryFreshness can be a great way to instantly remove the odors in the air. Simply spray the mist into the air and allow it to pull the odors out of the air!
